ECE – Winter Weather Notice

There is the possibility for winter weather to impact our region once again, particularly Wednesday-Friday night. If you look outside, you’ll notice tree boughs heavy with snow—now imagine the impact that high winds, negative wind chills, and more snow could have. Forestry crews are already out, addressing high-risk trees that could pose an outage risk, but as we all know, nature often has its own plans.

We don’t have a crystal ball, but power outages are a possibility. Please take time to prepare your home and pets for more winter weather. Do not travel if at all possible, and if you must, keep an eye out for downed power lines. Stock up on food, water, batteries, and meds. If you use a generator, ensure proper ventilation and the use of a transfer switch to avoid deadly backfeed.

We’re crossing our fingers that weather reports are totally wrong, but if outages do occur, remember that ECE’s social media team can’t log your outage due to account security reasons. Report on SmartHub or call 1-800-254-7944. Learn more at https://eastcentralenergy.com/what-can-smarthub-do-you
